After several years as a small forest party, marking an annual celebration of a group of good friends in the LA underground scene, 2006 found Lightning in a Bottle stepping into the realm of full fledged festival at it’s first year at Live Oak campground in Santa Barbara, CA. People streamed in from all over the West coast to celebrate art, music, community and sustainable thinking, key elements of LIB that hold as true today as they did back then.

Lightning in a Bottle has evolved into something much bigger and continues to pave the way for environmental awareness and sustainable large scale events.

If you’ve never been to Reno, you should check it out. Reno has some amazing art and culture and you’re constantly reminded of 20+ years ago with the many pawn shops and tchotchke store fronts. I lived in Reno for three years and I learned to love the “Biggest Little City” for many reasons. I love that Reno is so F’ing close to Tahoe and some of the best skiing, riding, mountain biking in the world. I love that Reno is the closest city to Burning Man and the desert. I love Reno for the dirt and grime and the little bit of edge I feel from the punk kids down by the River.
